You can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate between pages in the webtext, control Read to Me, and manage notes.
For additional shortcuts and commands while using a screen reader, visit our article, How can I quickly navigate my webtext using a screen reader?
Webtext page navigation
Page navigation shortcuts work just like the Back and Next buttons at the bottom of a webtext page. If a page doesn’t have a Back or Next button, the corresponding shortcut isn’t available.
Action | Windows/PC | Mac |
Go to next page | Alt+N | Control-N |
Go to previous page | Alt+P | Control-P |
Read to Me
When Read to Me is enabled, you can use these shortcuts to control playback and voice speed.
Action | Windows/PC | Mac |
Play or pause | Ctrl+Shift+Enter | Control-Shift-Return |
Decrease voice speed | Ctrl+Shift+< | Control-Shift-﹤ |
Increase voice speed | Ctrl+Shift+> | Control-Shift-﹥ |
Skip backward | Ctrl+Shift+P | Control-Shift-P |
Skip forward | Ctrl+Shift+N | Control-Shift-N |
Note: In Firefox on Mac, the Play or pause shortcut is Command-Shift-Return.
Notes
You can use these shortcuts to quickly jump to the top note on the page and save notes after typing or editing them in the webtext.
Action | Windows/PC | Mac |
Jump to the top note on the page | Alt+M | Control-M |
Save note | Ctrl+Enter | Command-Return |
Spreadsheet templates
When working in a spreadsheet template, you can use these shortcuts to open a menu that lets you copy, cut, or paste data from a cell.
Action | Windows/PC | Mac |
Open context menu | Shift+F10 | Fn-Shift-F10 |
