How do I use Study Stack?

Your guide to checking your knowledge using our Study Stack tool

Written by Alyssa

Study Stack lets you practice recalling concepts covered in your webtext. As you work through the webtext, completed questions get added to Study Stack so you can use them to practice for upcoming quizzes and tests. Completed questions are ones that you’ve answered correctly or that you’ve answered incorrectly and can no longer reset.

You can answer and reset questions in Study Stack as many times as you’d like without affecting the points you earn in your webtext.

1. Open Study Stack

To access Study Stack in a web or mobile browser, open the Tools Menu in the upper-right corner of your webtext and select Study Stack.

If you’re using the Soomo app, tap the Settings ☰ button in the upper-right corner and then select Study Stack.

You’ll also find links to Study Stack beneath multiple-choice questions you’ve completed and at the bottom of pages where you’ve completed at least one multiple-choice question.

2. Generate questions

Use the drop-down menu to choose a chapter to study from, or select “All chapters,” then click the Generate My Study Stack button.

Open Select a Chapter drop-down menu with a chapter highlighted, and an arrow pointing to the Generate My Study Stack button.

Chapters will appear in the drop-down menu if you’ve completed at least one question in that chapter, but remember: only the questions you’ve already completed in that chapter will be available in your Study Stack.

Once the questions are generated, you can click the Shuffle Questions button near the top of the page if you’d like to reorder them.

There are a few things to keep in mind about the questions in Study Stack:

  • Some questions may depend on the context of the page, like those that reference specific videos. Since your work in Study Stack doesn’t affect the points you earn in your webtext, feel free to skip those questions.

  • Questions from certain pages, like Research Spotlights, may not appear in Study Stack.

3. Check your knowledge

You’re ready to study! For each question, select your answer and then click the Check Answer button.

You’ll see a rejoinder that lets you know if you’ve answered the question correctly and why your answer is correct or incorrect. The rejoinder will also include a link back to the webtext page where you first answered the question, so you can review the content again if you’d like.

To see a new question about the same concept, click the Try a Similar Question button.

The progress indicator at the upper right of the page will let you know how many questions you’ve answered in your Study Stack and how many you’ve answered correctly.

When you’re ready to move on to another chapter, scroll to the top of the page, select a chapter from the drop-down menu, and generate a new Study Stack. You can also click the button at the bottom of the page to quickly jump back to the top.

If you generate a different set of questions, close out of your Study Stack tab, or refresh the page, your answers will be cleared. When you’re ready to jump into your next study session, you’ll be able to answer the questions again and continue building your understanding of the course material.
