The highlighting and note-taking tools in your webtext can help you stay organized and focused on key points as you read. (These tools aren’t currently available on mobile.)

When you select a portion of text, a menu will open with options to highlight the text or copy it. A note-taking field will also appear in the right-hand margin.

Highlight

After you’ve selected your desired text, choose a color from the menu to highlight it.

The highlighting menu appears on a selected portion of text. The menu includes three highlighting colors and a Copy button.

If you’d like to remove a highlight, select the text again and choose white as the highlight color.

Copy text

The Copy button allows you to copy the selected text to your clipboard. After clicking Copy, the text will be ready to paste wherever you need it. For more on copying and pasting text, visit our article, How do I copy and paste?

Take notes

To add a note, select the text, then click in the note area and start typing.

To delete a note, select the text in the note field and use the Backspace or Delete keys on your keyboard to remove it.

View your notes

To view your highlights and notes in one place, click the Tools button in the upper right corner of your webtext and select My Notes.
