Copying and pasting from your webtext is similar to copying and pasting in other programs and apps, whether on a computer or mobile device.

To copy text, first select the text you want to copy. On a computer, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command-C (Mac) to copy it. You can also copy text by clicking the Copy Text button in the highlighting and note-taking menu that appears when you’ve selected text. For more information about using these tools, visit our article, How do I highlight and take notes?.

The highlighting and note-taking menu below a selected portion of text, with an arrow pointing to the menu’s Copy Text button

To paste, navigate to where you want to place the copied text, then right-click and select Paste, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V (Windows) or Command-V (Mac). If you’re using a mobile device, tap and hold in a text area, then select Paste.
