Your webtext includes a few different types of questions to help you check your understanding of the material.

Multiple-choice questions

Multiple-choice questions may appear in your webtext individually or together in question sets. To complete a multiple-choice question, select an answer and then click Save.

You’ll then see a rejoinder that lets you know if you’ve answered the question correctly and why the answer is correct or incorrect.

Depending on your course’s settings, you may be able to reset your answers. For more information about resetting multiple-choice questions, visit our Help Center article, How do I reset multiple-choice questions?

Short-answer questions

To complete short-answer questions, type in your response and click Post. Note that your responses to short-answer questions will only be visible to you and your instructor.

To check your understanding of the question, compare your response to the reference answer that appears.

Response boards

To complete response boards, type in your response and click Post. The work you post in response-board questions will be visible to your instructor and classmates.

After you post, you’ll see your classmates’ responses. Take a moment to read through and consider the ideas and perspectives your peers have shared.

Don’t worry if you’d like to make changes after you’ve posted your response! Both short-answer questions and response boards allow you to edit your work and repost it.

Polls

To respond to a poll, select your response and then click Save.

Once you’ve saved your answer, you’ll see how your classmates responded to the prompt. Note that answers to poll questions are anonymous and cannot be reset.

The poll data may appear as a pie chart or a bar graph, depending on your course content.

If you’d like to view the results of the poll as a data table instead of a chart, click the Data tab beneath the poll question text. You can also download the poll results from the Data tab by clicking the “Download the data (CSV)” link above the table.
