In the event of a system-wide LMS outage, you may not be able to access your webtext through your school’s LMS, e.g., Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle, Canvas. (An LMS outage is when the LMS platform itself is unavailable for many users—not just an issue with your individual account, network, or device.)
If you believe your LMS is experiencing a widespread outage and you’re unable to log in, don’t worry! You can still access your webtext through our website or mobile app.
Through webtexts.com
We can help you create a password you’ll use to sign in to your webtext directly through our website, webtexts.com. Just reach out to us using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
You’ll be able to use that password to log in until your LMS access is restored.
The Soomo Reader app
If you’ve already installed and logged in to the Soomo mobile app, you can continue working in the webtext as usual. Since you’re already signed in, you do not need to go through your LMS to access the webtext.
If you haven’t used the app before, you can follow these steps to create your password, pair the app, and access your webtext:
1. Download the Soomo Reader app from the iOS App Store or Google Play.
2. From the main app screen, tap “I don’t know my password.“
3. On the next screen, enter your email and click “Request password.“ You’ll be emailed a password you can use to sign in.
