Some webtexts include spreadsheet templates to guide you through your assignments. While you can complete spreadsheet templates in the web browser on your computer, this article will focus on completing them on your mobile device by using a mobile browser or the Soomo app.

Enter data in the cells

To complete spreadsheet templates, you’ll enter data into each of the shaded cells. Tap a cell to select it and start adding or editing content. When a cell is selected, it will have a darker, thicker border.

When you select a cell, a text box appears near the bottom of the screen. Tap the box to open your device’s keyboard and enter data directly into the cell. Anything typed in the text box will appear in the selected cell.

Alternatively, you can double tap a cell to quickly open the keyboard and start entering data.

When you’re done editing the cell, tap the green check mark to save your changes and close the keyboard. Clicking the red X will discard your changes and close the keyboard.

To select multiple cells, tap and hold one of the circles in the corner of a selected cell and drag your finger over the other cells you’d like to select.

If you need to copy, cut, or paste data, tap a cell to select it, wait a moment, and then tap it again. In the menu that appears, tap an option to perform the action.

Complete the templates

Continue entering data into the spreadsheet template until each shaded cell has been filled in. When you’re finished, tap the Add button to complete the template.

If you aren’t able to tap the Add button, make sure that you’ve filled in each shaded cell in the template. Keep in mind that you may need to scroll to the right of the template to see all of the cells.

You can change your responses after you’ve tapped the Add button by tapping the Edit button at the bottom of the spreadsheet template.

Find spreadsheet templates

At the bottom of the Table of Contents menu, you’ll find the Index of Spreadsheet Templates. This page contains links to every spreadsheet template in the webtext. (Note: depending on your webtext, the page may be called Index of Assignment Templates.)
