Overview and video tutorial
Your webtext includes interactive outlining templates to help you build your speech step by step. You can use these built-in templates to easily add, rearrange, and delete points as you build your speech.
Get started
To begin creating an outline using the outlining template, place your cursor inside the first text prompt and begin typing. You will need to fill out all required prompts in the template.
Add, move, and delete points
If you would like to reorder main points or subpoints in your outline, click the three dots to the right of each prompt and select “Move this item.”
You can add additional main points or support using the Add button.
You can also delete main points or support by selecting the three dots, and then clicking “Delete this item.”
Add to your assignment
Once you are happy with your outline, click the Add to Assignment button.
If you’d like to make changes later, click Edit Responses, update your text, then click Add again so the updated version is saved.
Download your outline
If the Download button is available, click it to save a copy of your outline to your device.
The document you download is formatted for Microsoft Word or Office 365, so opening it in Google Docs or other programs may affect numbering or bullet styles. If you do not have access to Microsoft Word or Office 365, contact your instructor or your school’s IT help desk for assistance.
